As the weather warms and days get longer, the sweet smell of spring flowers, summer rains and barbecue fill the air. The carefree feelings of the summer months fill your home.

When the seasons change all of our senses become engaged. Sounds of birds chirping and the fresh scent of new life combine, providing a feeling of renewal and rejuvenation.
The warm breeze and sounds of the ice cream truck down the street confirm that the season has changed.

Color is an important indicator of a new season, and spring/summer is no exception. Colors of the season borrow a little from the past but always lie in the future. What colors will captivate our interest in the future, what will be a passing trend. The fresh colors of spring/summer 2013 as defined by pantone combine to create a lasting influence in fashion and home interiors.

 

Emerald and Monaco Blue

Solid colors that allow you to utilize the other colors in this powerful spring pallet. Deep greens and blues are found in many areas of your home. Emerald, the 2013 color of the year brings clarity and grounds many of the other colors. Monaco blue, also an anchor, brings cheer and calm to a room.

Nectarine, Poppy Red, Lemon Zest and Tender Shoots

African Violet and Linen

Traditionally “girly” colors, light purple and soft champagne add soft feminine accents to a room without overpowering your décor.

Dusk Blue and Grayed Jade

Bold colors but not quite as dangerous as the other fresh colors in this spring/summer lineup. Blues and grayed greens are great compliments to a wide range of colors and make a space feel rich and complete.
